Event Description:

The preliminary draft of Plan2040, the Anne Arundel County General Development Plan (GDP), is available for public comment up until November 15, 2020.  The Chamber will be hosting a town hall style meeting to discuss the GDP and solicit input from our members that will help the Chamber prepare its formal comments and concerns about the draft plan.

The GDP will guide land use in the County, seek to conserve critical resources and promote economic development.  The plan is mandated by the State and must adhere to certain guidelines and include meaningful input from the general public and business community.  After the public comment period is over, the draft plan will be presented to County Council for debate and approval, this will happen in the Spring of 2021.

The Town Hall will feature a brief presentation about the GDP and then open for comments by the attendees with a time limit of five minutes.  If you are not familiar with the GDP click HERE to read or download a copy.  It is broken down into the following four key areas: 1) Natural Environment, 2) Built Environment, 3) Healthy Communities and 4) Healthy Economy.

If you would like to make comments about the GDP at the Town Hall, please use the drop down menu on the registration page to indicate which area.  Your comments should be clear and to the point as we will be enforcing the 5 minute time limit to provide time for people to participate.  Written comments are also welcome.
